Inspurration: Posters for Extraordinary Cats “Hang in there, baby” for cats, these pint-size inspirational posters from Olympia fit above the food bowl with encouragement like, “Reach for the stars, you’ll at least make it up to the counter.”

The end of Heart of the Deernicorn’s first decade of business is dovetailing into a new venture — which still falls under its umbrella — Studio Golden, and it recently debuted with a handful of ceramic products and is expanding into a fuller home-décor line.

Populus is happy to host Mo Golden of Studio Golden for Seattle’s iconic 1st Thursday Art Walk. Come by, engage with the work, and be part of the vibrant artistic community that makes 1st Thursdays unforgettable.

You may think your cat has everything she needs: a catnip-filled mouse toy, a climbing tower and a basket to curl up in. But if she doesn’t have a poster, well, she’s missing out, and you should feel guilty.

Studio Golden is going to start by producing home decor and functional art pieces, she said, but with an eye toward making ceramic game components, such as the game markers used in a role-playing game.

Ross and I are both artists and we understand how challenging it is to find fulfilling work that respects your creativity and technical skills. We want to create the kinds of opportunities that we wished were available to us when we were starting our careers.

Mo and her husband own Heart of the Deernicorn, an award winning game design studio. Together they just launched a new venture, Studio Golden, a design studio focused on making daily tasks and time at home feel like special moments, through workbooks, oracle decks, and ceramic functional art pieces.

Check out Studio Golden, the newest addition to the cool stuff Mo and Ross already do with Deernicorn. Handmade functional art and interactive designs to bring more intention and ritual into your home.
